Home child care providers establish a trusting, supportive relationship with families to help children grow and develop to their full potential. Home child care agencies approve, supervise and support caregivers who are interested in developing their own home-based child care business. There is a need for home child care providers in our area.

Benefit of Being a Licensed Home Child Care Provider

You own and operate your own home-based business.

You can work from home and stay home with your own children.

You can set your own hours.

You may offer part-time, full-time, flexible care during the day, evenings or weekends, the choice is yours.

Home Child Care Providers receive support from the Licensed Home Child Care Agency.

The Licensed Home Child Care Agency provides support for administration (billing and collecting of fees), recruiting and placing families, advertising, equipment and toy loaning, professional learning opportunities, networking opportunities with other HCC providers, and regular visits by the Home Visitor to provide ongoing support as required.

As a licensed home child care provider, families enrolled with you can qualify for support to cover the cost of care.

Families enrolled may be supported with lower fees through the CWELCC System, where eligible and can apply for child care fee subsidy.

Licensed Home Child Care Providers receive regular payments including a Home Child Care Enhancement Grant (HCCEG).

Providers receive regular payments from the Licensed Home Child Care Agency, who takes care of collecting fees from families, and where eligible can receive funding from the HCCEG of up to $20 per day.

Being in the field of child care as an RECE since 1988 and RECE Director since 2010 has shown me the children's innocent sense of humour and truth and insight to how they explore the world around them. From seeing them implementing simple or complex lessons/advice for growth whether it's from a workshop or a one-on-one, to problem solving and simply..... just taking time to laugh together. Sure there are times when our gears clog and don't mesh, but when resolved as a Team, that is a proud moment
