Professional Learning Supports
PELASS offers various professional learning opportunities and capacity building supports to local early years and child care service providers. In doing so, PELASS supports developing and enhancing quality while ensuring quality within the early years and child care system in our communities.
Capacity Building Supports include
Communities of Practice
Educators come together to reflect, share their experiences and build support networks for their practice.
Coaching & Mentoring
Provides support to build confidence in educators and themselves as leaders. Creates opportunities for professional development and growth.
Site Visits
Provides an opportunity for observation, reflection, and collective thinking on what supports may be required to support the vision of each program.
Side by Side Training
Create provocations that enable children and educators an opportunity to play and learn together. Educators then have an opportunity to reflect on the learning and document the successes and challenges.
Resource Lending Library
A variety of books are available for loan on a variety of topics such as play-based learning, pedagogy, pedagogical leadership, coaching and mentoring etc.
Quality Resource Guide
A reflective guide that provides a framework for best practice to support early childhood programs in delivering high-quality services for children and their families.
Professional Learning Events
A variety of different workshops, webinars, and guest speakers are offered based on the needs of the sector.
